Valleyfield Guest House was built in the late 1970's with 3 guest bedrooms with a purpose to serve the impeding oil boom that was to come to Shetland and the North Sea. The oil boom came and with that an extension was built with 9 additional ensuite bedrooms joining the initial trio. With an intention to offer more value to our guests, we added a commercial kitchen and large dining room to accommodate our visitors, most of whom were servicing the requirements of the Sullom Voe Oil Terminal.
As our guesthouse enters its half century of operations, the same family continue to own and run the Guest House, welcoming tourists, holidaymakers and of course, those making their living within the oil and gas sector in Shetland. As our business continues to grow the guesthouse continues to evolve.
